This vid shows our team helping the aircrew of a RAF helicopter and ambulance men extract a man with leg injuries from a path where he was walking.

The Ravenscar Half Marathon was run today for the second year. This event organised by the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team attracted 130 runners and the improved route was well accepted by all. The winner came in with a time of 1 hour 28 mins.
The funds raised will go towards running the team for another year. The Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team currently has fifty active team members including doctors, paramedics, nurses and people with hillwalking and climbing experience.  Callouts come usually come from one of two sources - via a 999 call to the Police from a member of the public, or direct from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Each year they are involved in around 45-50 incidents of a wide-ranging nature.
All Team members are volunteers who are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Their main area is approximately 2100 square miles, our Northern boundary runs from Sandsend, near Whitby, to Helmsley then across to the A19, they have no formal southern boundary and have participated in incidents as far as Humberside. Sponsored Bike Ride 2011

Well I've borrowed a bike and decided to give it ago. So Colin and myself are training to try and get fit,
any tips or hints would be good.
I'll post some links to the training runs I've been
doing when I can figure out how.
